POSITION:   Part-time Page, Grade I
Adult/Young Adult Services Department

The Adult/Young Adult Services Department has a part-time Page, Grade I, position opening. Starting wage is $9.16 per hour, and there are Level 1 employee benefits associated with this position, per the current Personnel Policy.

This is an 8- to 19-hour per week “non-exempt” position with a work schedule that includes evening, and weekend hours--normally three or four days during the week.

Duties include: Shelving of books, shifting books, shelf-reading, and general maintenance of the collections. There is a possibility of special projects, as necessary.

The Youth Services Department has a position opening for a part-time Page, Grade I. Starting wage is $9.16 per hour, and there are Level 1 employee benefits associated with this position, per the current Personnel Policy.

This is an 8-19-hour per week “non-exempt” position with a work schedule that includes evening and weekend hours.

Duties include: Shelving of library materials; shifting books; shelf-reading; keeping the department in good order; and possibly assisting other staff with department displays, programs, and special projects.

Position:       Part-time Library Assistant I, Level I, Grade III
Adult/Young Adult Services Department
Audiovisual Unit

The Adult/Young Adult Services Department, Audiovisual Unit, has a position open for a part-time Library Assistant I, Level I, Grade III.  The current wage range is $11.97 to $16.52 per hour; and there are Level I employee benefits associated with the position, per the current Personnel Policy.

This is an 8-19 hour per week “non-exempt” position with a work schedule that includes daytime, evening, and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) hours year-round.

We are seeking energetic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy working with the public. Excellent customer service skills are a key element of this position. Duties include: Assisting patrons in the use of library materials and equipment, compiling data and maintaining records, and other clerical duties associated with a busy public service desk.

Some college or special library training or related library experience is desirable, including knowledge of current audiovisual materials.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Publisher) is a plus. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
